Just a reminder to everyone that Jersey Day is tomorrow and NOT on Tuesday since there is a tournament in the gym. I am unable to update the calendar at this time, as my account information is at the school. I look forward to seeing all of the jerseys tomorrow!

Thank you to all parents/guardians who came to our student-led conferences, or who signed up to make sure that their child came home with their portfolio. If your child brought their portfolio home, please make sure that all items are returned to school by the end of this week, and that you have signed the acknowledgement form that came with it. This ensures that you have seen everything your child should have brought home with them.

I appreciate the time and effort that everyone gave to help contribute to their child’s progress this year. If you have any questions that you forgot to ask, or comments that you’d like to share, please contact me through your child, via email, or if necessary, call me at the school.

Just a reminder that Thursday and Friday are student-led conferences. If by chance you are unable to make it, please resubmit the sign up form stating no, send a note with your child, or send me an email at jekelly@scdsb.on.ca.

I sent home a letter last week with your child so that you know what to expect from these conferences (before, during, after). If you did not receive this please ask your child to give it to you or message me and I will send it to you.

Please note there have been some updates to our class calendar. Please check in daily/weekly.

Please read the information below and then complete the Student Conference Sign-Up.

Student-Led conferences will be held on Thursday, November 17th, and a limited number of conferences the morning of Friday, November 18th.  For these conferences, there will be multiple of them happening at once (approximately 2-3), as they are student-led. We will be preparing for these in the weeks leading up to the conferences so that they are covering all key areas of their learning (including goals and next steps). I will be circulating to ensure students are focused and on-track. Should you require more time or want to talk with me regarding more private concerns, I will be happy to set up an additional time to meet with you

If you are unable to attend the conference, I will send home your child’s portfolio and information so that they may share it with you at home. The content that they will cover at the conference will be the same as what they would cover with you at home (as long as they follow their script and notes created by them,  along with my guidance). If you choose to have your child bring home their portfolio, please indicate this on the survey. When it is sent home I will have you sign a sheet to ensure that you have seen all necessary items in the portfolio.

Please note that I require a PARENT EMAIL to be submitted with the survey. Please do NOT use the student’s email address. Thank you for your understanding.

As a final note, please only submit the survey ONCE so that multiple times are not taken up by the same person. Once you select an option it will be taken off the list. Occasionally it takes a minute or two. When you are done, please close the survey page you are on (as some errors tend to occur because this page remains open). Once your survey is submitted an email should be sent to you with your responses so that you can refer to it for your conference time.
